Extension DevTools

extension-devtools · Version 0.3.0 · Updated 30 Sep 2026

For people who WRITE extensions. Lists the extensions your Tucan account publishes (tucan.amlang.net), with each one's details and its published versions. The packing and publishing tools live here too, so the studio itself stays free of machinery only an extension author needs.

am-git

am-git · Version 1.0.6 · Updated 27 Sep 2026

The am-git executable (git for AmigaOS m68k / MorphOS ppc, which have no system git), bundled inside the studio. Installing adds it to the shell Path and points the built-in Git UI at it. No menus or file editors -- the existing Git sidebar just starts working.

AmLang Toolchain

amlang-toolchain · Version 1.0.10 · Updated 16 Sep 2026

The whole native AmLang build chain in one drawer: amlc (Compiler V2), am-cc (C compiler), am-as (68k assembler), am-ld (linker) and am-make. No JVM and no host toolchain required -- everything runs natively on the machine you are developing on. Installing puts the drawer on the shell Path, so `amlc`, `am-cc`, `am-make` and friends work from any shell as well as from the studio's Build menu items. On AmigaOS the installer additionally fetches the Native Developer Kit 3.2 (dev/misc/NDK3.2.lha, 8.1M) from Aminet and unpacks it next to the tools, because am-cc needs the OS headers and link libraries to build anything that talks to the system.

AmLang Compiler

amlang-compiler · Version 1.0.3 · Updated 13 Sep 2026

The native AmLang compiler, amlc (Compiler V2), as a single drawer. No JVM and no host toolchain required -- it runs natively on MorphOS and drives the SDK's own make and gcc. Installing puts the drawer on the shell Path, so `amlc` works from any shell as well as from the studio's Build menu items. This is the compiler ALONE: the m68k tools (am-cc, am-as, am-ld, am-make) ship in the separate AmLang Toolchain extension for AmigaOS, where they are the build chain amlc calls.

Google AI

google-ai · Version 1.0.0 · Updated 3 Sep 2026

Adds Google's Gemini models to the AI Chat as a selectable service. Pure JavaScript -- the extension only describes how to build a Gemini request and how to read the reply; the studio makes the call, so agent mode, tool calling and the token readout work the same as they do for the built-in providers. Bring your own API key from Google AI Studio.

What one can add

Workspace

Custom workspace menus

Add custom workspace menus that run scripts or commands against the file or workspace you have open.

Forms

Dialogs without UI code

A form described in markup, shown before a command runs, so an extension can ask for what it needs and stay small.

Editors

New kinds of file

An editor view for a file type the IDE does not know — opened, edited and saved in place, like anything else.

Installing them

Use the extensions manager to browse the catalog for your platform and install your chosen extensions into Tucan Studio's extensions folder.

A guide to writing your own is coming. Until then, the extensions that ship with the catalog are the best worked examples — each one is a folder of scripts and markup you can read.
