Terminal (CLI)
The bottom-bar CLI is a real terminal, not a shell emulator. On AmigaOS it runs commands through a custom DOS handler that bridges CON: for stdin (so isatty-checks pass in libnix binaries) and PIPE: for stdout/stderr (captured back into the panel).
Running commands
Type a command and hit Enter. Output streams into the panel; the CLI stays interactive so you can type ahead.
Interactive processes
Some commands need a live TTY (nano, vim, ssh). Type them the same way -- the handler grants the child a full ANSI terminal grid via ExamineFH/SetMode fallback. Ctrl+C sends the interrupt signal to the child.
Copy / paste
- Shift-select text with the mouse copies to the AmLang clipboard.
- Right-Amiga + V pastes at the prompt.
Stack size
Each command the CLI spawns gets the stack set in Settings -> CLI (default 100000 bytes). On AmigaOS and MorphOS a task's stack is fixed at creation, so a compiler that recurses past its allocation corrupts memory rather than failing cleanly -- if a build dies in a way that makes no sense, raise this first.
Multiple terminals
You can open several CLI panels. Each is a separate handler + DOS process pair, with independent scrollback.
Commands from elsewhere
Menu items and extension scripts run their commands in this same
panel. They queue: a command that arrives while another is still
running waits its turn and is shown as [queued], rather than
starting on top of the one in progress.
SSH
Connect to remote hosts via bebbossh, which the BebboSSH extension
installs (Extensions -> Manage extensions...). Once installed,
ssh user@host works at the prompt.
